đź–¤The Black Rose Vol. 5 đź–¤

đź–¤ Welcome to the Black Rose, the beating heart of The Tangled Moon Chronicles , dispatches from the desk of a woman who lives half in fiction.

🦇🦇🦇

There’s a moment in every character’s life — and let’s be honest, in every writer’s life — where the world tilts just enough that everything you believed about yourself suddenly feels… negotiable.

This month, as I edit book four, I’ve been thinking about that moment for Danielle, my favorite werewolf.

â€śIt still felt unreal to her, that she wasn’t a freak alone in a world that at best didn’t understand her, at worst feared—or even hated her. It came back to that moment she’d found out she was a werewolf, and that she wasn’t the only one…”

These lines hit me, not because I wrote it, but because I’ve lived it.
Many of us know what it feels like to discover we’re not as alone as we thought we were. Even if the world insists on misunderstanding us, marginalizing us, or making us feel small.

The struggle is real.

Shout out to all the weirdos, the misfits, the deep thinkers who know they don’t belong in a shallow world.

Now on to calmer… um… bloodier waters.

đź–¤Frequently asked questions:

Can you write horror, or are you just into the emotional stuff?

Well, here’s your answer, from Entangled:

Seeing what she couldn’t, Alessandro grabbed hold of the vampire, stopping him mid-stride. The male came into full view. He had long straggly blond hair and blue eyes, like hers. Without hesitation, Alessandro jammed the tip of a knife into one eye then dropped him, still writhing, onto the ground. He turned, Kendra behind him, guiding her movements with one arm as they made their way to the car…

🦇 I’m kind but I never said I was gentle. Love that survives the dark has fangs.

🖤 Meanwhile, at the Castle…

If you’ve ever watched one of those old horror movies, you know the kind , where your car sputters out on a lonely road, then a storm rolls in like it has a personal vendetta against you, and the only shelter for miles is a castle that isn’t on the map?

That’s the energy of my Crazy Wall right now.

And just like every doomed traveler who steps over a castle threshold thinking, “It’s probably fine,” you’ve now wandered far enough into my creative lair that you might as well stay for the tour. The storm’s picking up, the door has locked itself behind you, and someone upstairs is dragging something heavy across the floorboards… so let’s continue. I do believe I promised an update on my crazy wall, so here it is:

The green string shows where each character was born.

The red is for strategic battle sites.

It’s only going to get weirder from here on out, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like six months from now.

đź–¤That’s it for this month my little batlings.

For those of you who have been orbiting me like a shy vampire at the edge of the woods,
maybe today’s the day you step inside the castle.

I promise it’s warm in here. And bloody. And romantic. And a little unhinged.

đź–¤Author Biođź–¤  Once told she writes like a B‑movie, Darcy took it as a compliment and ran — now she creates supernatural romances with cult‑classic charm, gothic humor, and unapologetic heart.
