Highlights:
I attended my first book fair.
I was invited to a local event at a museum.
I’ve almost finished the rough draft for my fourth historical romance.
I’m on schedule for an October publication for A Worthy Opponent (my second historical romance). *Cover reveal coming soon*

This last month I went to my first book fair (as a vender that is). It was in a small town about half an hour from where I live, hosted by the town library. It was bigger than I’d thought it would be and got quite busy. The pictures I included were taken first thing in the morning. (Aren’t you proud of me, I remembered to take pictures?) Things began picking up between noon and three. I got my picture taken three times, and might be in two different newspapers. I might already have been in them, not sure, since I don’t get those papers.
I surprised myself by very nearly selling out of most of my stock. I had one copy of Tangled Moon left, two of Intertwined, and four of Enduringly Yours. For some reason the historical romances weren’t selling as well that day. Bizarre, because I have an upcoming engagement at a library where the director specifically asked that I be prepared to push my historical romance, because that’s the genre she loans out the most. I’m learning to go with the flow with things, and that two events can go in entirely different ways.
Soon after the book fair (the day after) I received an e-mail where I was asked if I wanted to be a vender at an upcoming event at a museum in my closest city. It will be about half an hour away from where I live. I was, being me, happy to say yes. I’m really enjoying these events, meeting new people, new authors, and at times even swapping books with other authors so we can support each other.
I still have no idea when I’ll be producing audio books, but that’s fine. I have enough going on as it is.
The rough draft for my fourth historical romance is nearly finished. There are about fifty pages to go. I’m dragging it out because I’m not ready to say goodbye to the characters yet. Unlike Tangled Moon, where I get to revisit the same characters over and over, in this series, each book focuses on one couple, and while the whole series cycles around the same group of people, once it’s finished, I’m never in their POV again; something that’s always been hard on me.
The cover for A worthy Opponent, coming in October, is ready, and I’ll be posting a cover reveal next month!
For now, here’s a little teaser:

That’s what I have for you this month. Blessing to all of you out there in the great wide world.
😘 Darcy
