Another month has passed and summer is full on; heat, humidity, bugs and all. It’s a big bug year where I live and those who are sensitive to bug bites, like me, are either covered in pink welts, or giving up and staying inside. Which is what I’ve been doing a lot of lately.
I had a new opportunity come my way this month. I was invited to attend a local summer solstice event. It was a lot of fun, and I got to dress up as a dark fairy. I forgot to take a picture, so sorry, bad me.
The event had radio coverage from two stations. I wasn’t told beforehand that I was to be interviewed for them both (one interview played on two stations). I was notified ten minutes before the interview! 😯
My first thought was, what the hell? But then I was like, am I going to look a gift horse in the mouth?
Nope, I wasn’t.
So I did it anyway. The radio person—DJ? Announcer? Radio Personality Person?—was really nice. We were dressed similarly, and she said we were in the Raccoon Club, because we’d both gone for a dark fairy look with tons of black eyeliner. Anyway, it went fine. She asked me a few questions about my books, and where people could find them both locally and online, and just like that, I was on the radio!
Sweet! 😘
My next book, A Worthy Opponent, is close to being ready; however, I am only publishing one book every four months, that way I have the time to write new material. I like to keep ahead and would rather not be living from book to book. Sort of like living from paycheck to paycheck. I feel more secure about things when I’m ahead by a couple of books.
With the extra time I have, I’ve been writing a rough draft of a historical romance, Lost in You. It’s a part of the same series as my other historical romances, and is set in the Middle Ages.
Well, that’s what I have for you this month. I hope all is well out there in Internet Land.
Take care of each other, and have a great July!
Love, Darcy
