What quality do you value most in a friend?

What quality do you value most in a friend?

At first I wanted to say honesty. That sounds nice and all but then I remembered this episode of I Love Lucy where Ricky challenges Lucy to tell the truth for a full twenty-four hours.

She nearly lost every friend she had!

Sometimes it’s better that we keep our random thoughts to ourselves. Let’s face it, people are annoying (yes, I’m annoying too) so it’s better not to tell them everything if we want to remain friends.

I asked myself why honesty was the first thought to come to mind. I began to realize that it’s because I prefer people that I can trust. Okay, cool. So how could someone be trustworthy?

Well, they could be mature, wise, and reliable. (Hopefully that doesn’t make them boring.) On second thought, let’s make them mature but fun-loving and ninety percent reliable. 🤪 That’s not too much to ask for, right?

They don’t talk behind my back and at times will tell me the painful truth; just not all of the time. 😋 They generally give me good advice or at least the best they have to offer and we laugh and have fun together.

Sounds good to me! 💖

  1. for me, it’s someone who’d let me sleep on their couch. I don’t know, that tells me a lot about a person.

  3. Nice point, with the I Love Lucy episode. Sometimes tact is important too. My best friends are the ones who will put up with me. They’re mostly dogs.🤓
