Molly likes Liam (And Liam runs away…) 😂

Deduction – A Regency Romance:

“Pupils dilated,” he said. He checked her pulse, his fingers sliding deftly over her wrist. She wiped her other hand on her skirt; they were clammy all of a sudden. “Pulse… ah.” He straightened, clearing his throat.

“What is it?” Becca said. “Should we send for a doctor?”

“No. She’ll be fine.” His eyes, curious now, took Molly in, flicking as if he dared not focus on any one part of her for too long.

Her face warmed. Her gown was snug around the bust. It had actually been made for another lady. Mrs. Hedgeworth had insisted that she take it, since hers was damp. She tried not to breathe too hard, but thinking about not breathing only made things worse. She could feel the bite of muslin against her breasts now.

“Better get her something to drink,” he said thickly. Then he walked back into his lab. She heard the door slide closed behind him.
