What is the legacy you want to leave behind?

Daily writing prompt
What is the legacy you want to leave behind?

None. I don’t care.

😮

It’s normal to fade after you die. Your kids will remember you, as will your grandchildren. You may meet your great-grandchildren, and they will know you to some degree through their parents but after that you vanish.

Sort of…

My daughter looks so much like me that people call her my mini-me. My son might as well be the male version of me. I have my grandfather’s eyes and his height. (I’m even taller than my dad!) My son and one of my daughters are in the Army, just like my other grandfather was.

You get the picture.

I might look just like my great-great-great grandmother (or grandfather). I don’t know, but I just might. Or I might think just like they did and have a similar personality.

Which leads to the question. Do we ever really die? Even if you never have children you probably have nieces and nephews to pass your characteristics off to the next generation.

Yes, we’re all unique but we’re also an amalgamation of bits and pieces passed down through the generations, going hundreds (thousands?) of years back.

Yes, we’re all made of stars. And your words will outlast you! Now, with the internet, they should last forever, and that’s a mighty long time.

Crazy when you think about it. Especially since there were writers throughout history, good writers, who didn’t have that benefit, and whose words are lost forever. But we live in an amazing time. Please keep putting your words out there. You never know who you might inspire, or under what circumstances. It’s not your job to know that. Your job is writing the words.😜

  3. My thought would be it would be nice to know those nieces and nephews while I’m alive that will carry on my genes for future generations. May I ask are these romance excerpts you post are part of a book you’ve written? How could one start at the beginning to read them on Word Press?

Yes they’re from books I’ve written. Easiest thing to do is to go to darcybranwynromance.com click on where it says ‘books’ on the homepage and you’ll find all the links you need there. 😊
