Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

Daily writing prompt
Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

Life.

Maybe that sounds like a lame answer, but it’s the only one I have. I can’t say as though one particular person can be named, although certainly a dozen of them could.

Life is a cruel teacher, but damn will it get the job done. It doesn’t care if it knocks you down, it doesn’t care about your feelings, and it doesn’t give a rat’s-behind whether you make it out alive. 🤭

In fact you’re not going to make it out alive. That’s a guarantee…

(And that, my friends, is another odd installment of philosophy from a weird goth girl that knows we’ll all be eaten by the worms but also sees life as worth living and believes we all have a story to tell.

I’m just a bundle of contradictions. 😉)

  6. Your perspective on life is refreshingly honest and beautifully complex. Embracing contradictions is what makes us human, and your ability to see the worth in life’s journey, despite its uncertainties, is truly inspiring. Keep embracing your unique outlook and sharing your story with the world—it’s what makes you special. 🌟

  12. I feel like our teachers are out there, captured in the words they’ve written in books. Who are some of your favorite writer-teachers?

  14. My top ten in order are (and I wish I had one thousandth the talent of any of them) are Malcom Lowry, Garcia Marquez, Faulkner, Hemingway, Melville, Virginia Woolf, Chinua Achebe, Nabokov, Flann O’Brien, and Kerouac. But there’s about a hundred more, at least. And that’s not counting musician-artists. “Up Above My Head, I Hear Music in the Air.” Also I tend towards modern lit, which is dominated by white dudes. Some women writers I really admire are Carson McCullers, Isak Dinesen, Zora Neale Hurston, Willa Cather, Harper Lee, and Ursula LeGuin.

I can see that. Good for you though. I love reading too but don’t get to do it as much as I’d like.

  18. Il mio professore di filosofia, con lui mi sono relazionata e dialogando ho imparato tanto, la cosa che non riuscivo a capire allora, era perché fosse ateo , ma adesso che non ho fede, capisco molte cose che prima ignoravo.
