…She liked that, felt her smile widen. “Lothar?”
“Hmm…” Even though his fingers caressed her hip, she could tell he was going to fall asleep soon.
“I know we were married by a priest and all, but I think you might be my god.”
He jerked awake, and then she felt his headshake. He laughed and held her tighter.
“Too stupid?” she asked, cringing.
“No. It’s just that, I’d been thinking that when you were torturing me in the tub.”
“Torturing?”
“Yes, but I liked it.”
She leaned up and got a kiss in turn.
“Go to sleep,” he told her. “You need it.”
Danielle laid her head back down. “So are you saying that I’m…”
“Yes.”
