The Year of our Lord, 1192
Zipporah slipped into her father’s sickroom. She closed and barred the door incase Gilburn returned, wondering when Peter would arrive for the day. She had to admit, if she had to choose, she would take Peter’s company over Gilburn’s, even if being around him made for its own kind of danger. Peter would make she sure she wanted him first—with Gilburn, she had no idea. The way the man looked at her. She couldn’t be sure he wouldn’t just take what he wanted.
