Orchids. I’ve been keeping orchids.
Like a lot of people, I’ve killed my share of them in the past. I did have one that I kept alive for three years, and that was quite the accomplishment for me.
Recently, I found out that they need their own special kind of fertilizer (who would have thought, right!? LOL) and that does seem to be helping. The picture above is of my big orchid. It’s had flowers for three months now, so that’s a good sign, but I’m still getting this:
Frustration. 😤
Here’s my little orchid. He looks pretty good, but I haven’t gotten any flowers from him since July.
Again… Frustration.
At least they’re still alive. I’m getting better at this. I’ve heard that they can be complicated to keep long term. Too much of this, too little of that and they croak on you. I’m not sure I have the time or mental energy to try everything-under-the-sun to keep one alive , I have to admit. Maybe that’s the problem. They might need more than I can give them. 🤷♀️
