There are really only two principles that I live by. The first is the law of reciprocity. When you give freely of yourself it always comes back to you. That doesn’t mean you never say no, or do away with boundaries. It’s more like filling your own cup first and then giving away your excess—love, time, yes, at times even money, knowing that God/the universe/angels… batman will make sure that it comes back to you tenfold.
So far I’ve found this to be true. The key, is not to expect it to come back from the ones you gave it to. Those people may or may not reciprocate, but someone else will, just when you need it, and the way you need it.
The second, is to do what you love. It sounds like rainbows and unicorns, but the more you chase what you’re passionate about, the more you find the meaning of life.
