He’d Kill for It

“So,” she said, snuggling up closer to him; exquisite torture, “when was the first time you held me, according to you?”

“It was after your adoptive father kicked you out of the house.” He didn’t miss the bitterness in his own voice.

“Yeah, that sucked.”

“It put me into an even more difficult situation.”

“I’m sure it did.”

Not wanting her to expose herself to any mortals by staying with a human friend after dark, and being damned if he’d let her live alone out somewhere in the woods, he’d had her stay with him. Of course he was supposed to have been an exchange student living with a family in the school district, which he wasn’t. He’d been living alone in a small apartment just outside of town and trying not to draw too much attention to that.

“I did feel bad that you had to sleep on the couch,” she said.

He laughed. “I think that’s before you wanted to share the bed with me.”

“Would you have, if I’d been brave enough to ask?”

“Do you need to ask?”

She looked up at him. “Even though you could have gotten into trouble for it, you still would have?”

“I did anyway, and I didn’t even have the gratification of getting to have you first.”

“Oh my. How far you’d fallen so quickly.”

“You have no idea, Darling.”

“So, you’d comforted me as the good friend you were and then let me sleep on your couch.”

“Good.” He kissed her once. It wasn’t wise to be talking about this when he couldn’t rip her clothes off of her and have her right after. “I didn’t sleep at all because I was trying to figure how I could either have you without anyone knowing, or keep you away from any other male werewolves you might encounter before I wasn’t officially your Mentor anymore.”

It took her a moment. “Mmm… it was pretty much just sex on your mind then?”

He gave her a warning look.

“It’s okay, really. I hear men don’t fall in love until later anyway.”

He sighed. She would never quite understand what she did to him. It was something beyond love; addiction certainly, maybe a sort of fatal attraction. Either way, he’d die, just to have her one more time.

He’d even kill for it.
