How Have I Changed my Mind?

Daily writing prompt
What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

I used to believe that hard work got you places, that the harder you work the better your life, or success, or… something would be.

Now I think hard work just makes you tired and burned out. Work smarter not harder, I guess. These days I try to balance the different areas of my life. I’ve also learned to do things like meditation and yoga, to calm my over-active brain down enough that I can relax in the first place.

I work more efficiently when I work less, and I still get a lot done without having to beat myself up over it. It’s a lot better in the long run.

I can agree with you on this one. I have always worked hard & did my best. Where did it get me? No where. Now that I’m older I just take time for myself, friends & family. I’m learning to enjoy life more.

  14. It is all about consistency in my view, over doing it just leads to burnout, consistency to excellence!

  17. Here in America extremely successful people lie to credit all they’ve achieved to hard work. But more often than not, luck is a major factor in their “success”
