Good for Nothing Men?

The toxic masculinity trend is really upsetting. 😣😢🤐

Are we going to cancel men now?

Don’t toxic people come in both genders, and in any color, from any country, and any sexual persuasion? Why do so many people try to limit it to gender anyway?

She always came so easily, so perfectly responsive to his touch, his voice, his will even.  Although she hated thinking of it like that. She was stubborn and would remind him vehemently that he was a man from another time, that he needed to remember she had the vote, or in other words, he had no right to impose any will on her in any way, shape, or form.

What she didn’t know, was that the master was always the slave. Yes, he would be her man. He’d bend her body and her heart, her pride to his. And he did. Subtly. But all the while she was his goddess; Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love.

He belonged to her.

Because what good was a man with nothing to worship but himself?

    You voice the thoughts in my head so well. I’m really tired of the man bashing. Women complain about not being able to find a good man but fail to realize it’s because they have bashed the good ones to the point that all that is left is beta males.

    Yeah, I know. I got to the point where I had to start tuning the women out, or walking away. It’s amazing the qualities you can bring out in a man when you start believing in him.

    I see so much of it… going both ways, though. The hatred for women is something I see far more of these days, than the man-bashing. Not saying that it doesn’t exist or happen, because we all know it does. I guess what people don’t realize is that one, or even 50, bad experiences, don’t define an entire gender, race, religion, etc. Something that I was told “You’ve seen so much bad, it’s easier for you to see than the good. But… if you try to pay attention to it, you can see there’s far more good”. I wish the world could hear that advice. ❤

    I honestly don’t worry about it. It used to set me on edge when I kept seeing ‘toxic masculinity’ as a catchphrase, but I got desensitized. The truth is that what is called ‘toxic masculinity’ is usually what you see when guys try to out-guy each other because they have something to prove.

    On the comment about betas: I hear ‘alpha’ and ‘beta’ all the time, and it’s a false dichotomy. Research was done on it:

    The whole alpha wolf thing started this trend, and the poor guy who started it spent the rest of his life explaining it was wrong – to no avail.

    Haha! Yeah tell me, I know. I write books about werewolves and I use the term but they’re half wolf, so yeah… It’s true though, you can’t label humans like that. In the right moment even the quietest person will rise up and take charge. You can see it all over history. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Isn’t it interesting how we try to color-code toxicity based on gender? It’s refreshing to see someone point out the universality of toxic behaviors. Let’s shift the lens from ‘who’ to ‘what’ – from people to actions.
