Entangled

She felt an ache, a longing she didn’t understand but felt compelled to follow nonetheless. Kendra lifted her face to his, to expose her throat and invite him to drink from her, as if it could somehow fill the hole burning away inside of her chest.

Kendra Shepard hadn’t meant to get mixed up with vampires and werewolves. It just sort of happened that way. Caught in the middle, her only hope of escape is a powerful vampire that compels her like no one ever. Kendra tries to resist, but as Alessandro Basra battles his son’s many Slaves to keep her alive—as he feeds on her—she can’t deny him. He needs her and she knows it, is driven to fill a void left behind in him so long ago.

Kendra’s hair was surrounding him in a fair metallic curtain. Damn, he wanted this woman more than he had anyone in a very long time. Alessandro could feel her; from the remnants of her blood lingering in his body, binding her to him. In time that would fade. He didn’t want it to. Suddenly, it seemed vital that he hold onto her, to keep himself from plunging headfirst into the darkness.

Alessandro had been changed into a vampire three thousand years ago in Egypt, cursed to love a woman who is long gone. Years later, he created a son for himself, Theron, cursing him to never love a woman. He thought he’d been doing his son a favor; instead all he’d done was to create a vampire who would never understand his father. Now, Theron has begun a war between vampires and werewolves that is exposing their kind to the world, and Alessandro is going to stop it.

He’d planned on using Kendra as bait, to bring his son out of hiding, but when she reawakens him to his original curse, he is driven by forces outside of his control.
